Beach Stone and Sea Glass Originals by Brian Main and daughter Lauren began years ago collecting colorful and special shapes while combing the Northeast’s beaches from Maine to Connecticut. Often, they would arrange the day’s find into whimsical designs, people figures and flowers.
After which they were merely added back to the many jars that now contained sea glass, shells, beach stones & pebbles, broken pottery bits and drift wood pieces.
Occasionally, a jar or two would be emptied on the tabletop to again position combinations into amusing characters and cheerful scenes, but never saved. That is until a few special groupings were glued into position on cardboard pieces. People who saw them praised their artistic significance so a few more designs were created, necessitating more trips to the beach searching for more artifacts to use in their projects.
Brian, a retired architect, sketches and designs many of the concepts, collects the raw materials and frames the images.
Lauren, a Geology scientist, plans and composes the images and provides the artistic direction.
The two enjoy their “father-daughter time” working together on creating these images for gifts, Art Shows and now for the retail sales in coastal boutiques. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
